I'm going to start from the beginning...in 2003 when Steve left for Kuwait in support of OIF 1, I was 9 months pregnant with Christopher. I made a bumper pad for his bassinet that had many pictures of Steve so he would know what his daddy looked like. Then in 2006, Steve left again for the 11Tth MEU. I put a picture of Steve on Christopher's dresser and every night we would kiss it and say "goodnight daddy". Now in 2008, Steve left in support of OIF...whatever number it is.....This time both boys are old enough to understand that daddy is away for a while and he will be back. Christopher has a picture of Daddy by his bed and still kisses it everynight and still says "goodnight daddy". Matthew caught on and took it one step farther. Matthew not only kisses the picture and says "goodnight daddy", but he also sleeps with it. Daddy's picture needs to be covered with a blanket or he will get cold. I dont think there is any denying that our boys miss their daddy and that they love them very much. Boys need their Daddy!!!
